ART SIMONE TEXTILE DESIGN FOR DRAG EXPO 2023!

When Art Simone asked me to design a ‘roolly spiffy’ textile print for her Drag Expo 2023 costume and merchandise, who was I to deny this reigning Screen Queen?!

Art Simone is one of Australia’s most celebrated drag artists and a deluxe entertainer / performer / diva deluxe. Starring in the inaugural season of RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under, Art’s talent was shared with a worldwide audience and she immediately became a fan favourite with her incredible looks and razor-sharp tongue.

This custom FRIDA LAS VEGAS textile design is based on a few of Art Simone’s favourite things, from fly spray to paracetamol, beer to concealer and everything in between and became the basis for her Drag Expo Sydney 2023 costume and merchandising line.

I was thrilled to work with Art and her glam team, who always push the boundaries of drag as Art!
